As you might have noticed if you've read my blog much, I'm big on the theme of love in the Bible and in life. I am convinced that the whole entire Christian message can be summed up in this one word: LOVE. Why He came, why He died, why we are here, how we should treat others, how we should act...all of it in one word...LOVE. I am always watching and looking for verses, quotes, stories, and poems that echo this important message. Which brings me to a short story where I found just that....
A while ago I noticed a new "follower" on my blog page, and when I checked out her page I was really inspired by her lovely handmade jewelry. I was specifically enamored with her silver bangle that said "Love the life you live." Which I learned is part of a Bob Marley quote which says "Love the life you live. Live the life you love." I felt inspired by these simple, yet profound words. Being a quote collector I'm always listening for new ones, but this one struck just the right note in me at just the right time. I immediately wanted something with this special quote on it, but I had a vision in my mind for this quote on a ring, sort of a reminder to love the life that I have been given. So I asked if Nicola would do a custom ring, and today, a few weeks later....
...this lovely custom handmade silver ring is mine! I love it, it inspires and reminds me to really live a life of love and love this life I've been given. And I've also feel I've gained a new online friend, which I've found to be a surprising blessing of blogging. Thank you, Nicola for creating this beautiful ring for me, your work is even more lovely in person!
And now in turn I encourage each an every one of you (and remind myself) to
stop.
think.
and ask yourself - do you love the life you live? If so, yeah for you!! If not, I pray that you can turn to Him who offers us a glorious life and ask for the strength and wisdom to love the life you live.
It's in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone.
