Fellow Teacher's sentiments at lunch :)It is over. Finished. Schools out for summer.(click and watch - it's a funny take on the classic rock song). We end each year with a roller skating half day with the whole school. It's a really fun way to end the year. Every year I end up helping newbies to the skating world develop their skating legs. This year one of my former students skated up and said, "Hey, you're being a teacher again, just now with skating." Guess it's in my blood - you can take the teacher out of the classroom, but you can't take the teacher out of me! Amidst my exhaustion from the last couple weeks I do feel relief, of which I will feel more next Thursday when all the post-week work and meetings are done and I am totally free! For now I am content to know that I can now recharge my emotional and mental state for the next 7 weeks before I start all over again. Bring on Summer!
